Creating Applications

Creating applications for any production streams is straightforward, and the various components can be as physically distributed as necessary.

With our Water Flow Manager and Milk Chiller Manager systems the SBCs handling the input/output devices (so far) are up 600 km away from the server running the associated application software.
Upgrading an 'Other System'

Typically the 'other' Station Computer is based on Microsoft Windows and runs application software.

Upgrade sequence :

  1. Replicate application functionality in an Indo application.
  2. Move the devices from Station Computer(s) to new SBC(s).
  3. Configure Station Computer(s) to run their web browser on startup.

How time-consuming step 1 will be will depend on how well the existing system is documented.

For safety and efficiency we strongly recommend upgrading Station Computer(s) to an Enterprise Linux.
