Production Line Station

With this you can see the major benefits of the Indo architecture. A typical "Other System" is shown for comparison.

The Station Computer is what an operator uses, and on a production line typically it has a touch-screen.

The Indo Station Computers

Can all have identical hardware, since no external devices are connected to them. Making it feasible for you to hold a spare on-site.

Can all have identical software, since they only need to run a web browser.

Need hardware good enough only to make the web browser perform well.

Can quickly be substituted-for in the event of hardware failure. Anything that can run a web browser can do that. Tablet, laptop, desktop.

The Low-Power Single-Board Computers (LP-SBC)

Are housed in separate enclosures mounted near the devices that connect to them. And not necessarily close to the Station Computer.

Run software that responds to commands received via the network, and automatically report abnormal situations and events.

Are inexpensive-enough for at least one spare to be held on-site.

The Application Software

With Indo the application software is best installed on an Indo virtual machine on a central server. One that is real-time-mirrored to an Indo virtual machine on another physical server, to provide rapid failover.

If a plant uses several Indo applications they can all be run on one such central server VM.

This is a cleaner and safer method than 'Other System' which typically runs application software on the Station Computer.
